Summit Area - Guided Hike or Ranger Talk
Daily at 10am and 11am, Join a Park Naturalist for a 30 minute Guided Hike on Keonehe'ehe'e or Pā Ka'oao Trail. Guided Hike (on either trail) is less than .5 mile (round trip) or a ranger talk. Guided Hikes will meet at the Haleakalā Visitor Center (9,740 ft). Staffing shortages vary from day to day, so hike may not always be offered. If the Guided Hike is not available that day, a Park Naturalist will provide a 15-20 minute Interpretive Talk at the Haleakalā Visitor Center (9,740 ft) instead. Topics (for hike or talk) may include the surrounding ecosystem, culture and the environment, plants, animals, geology, etc. No reservations required. We recommend bringing sturdy closed-toe shoes, layered clothing,
