I used 3 teaspoons, and that made a good spicy mixture. The original recipe of Tandoori Chicken is marinated in yogurt and seasoned with tandoori masala. The spices tend to make the food moderately hot but the heat is toned down to a mild taste level in most Western places.

Next you will want to clean your chicken pieces by washing them off. Use a fork and punch holes into the chicken pieces. This will make the chicken more tender and allow the marinade to absorb into the pieces of chicken. Place your chicken pieces in a large ziplock bag, and pour in your marinade. It is definitely best to let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator overnight, but if you don't have that opportunity 4 or 5 hours should be enough time to let the chicken absorb the delicious marinade. Make sure the chicken is sealed air tight in the refrigerator.

When you make the flavorful and succulent tandoori chicken be sure to make enough so that you have some left over. With this left over tandoori chicken you can make amazing low calorie snacks or meals. Try reheating your tandoori chicken and enjoying it over whole grain rice or vegetables. Make a sandwich with whole wheat bread and lettuce. You can do so much with left over tandoori chicken and it is all healthy and good for your metabolism!
