India is slowly getting recognised among the elites when it comes to fashion and latest trends, primarily thanks to the competencies and creativity of the Indian fashion designers who have managed to create a niche for themselves in the fashion world. Slowly, Indian designers are attaining popularity in the Indian markets with a host of international celebrities and fashion icons wearing Indian clothes and jewelleries for making any public appearance. From fashion A-listers like Paris Hilton, Lady Gaga to Hollywood actors like Cameron Diaz and Jessica Alba have been seen wearing a traditional Indian sari or lehenga at a movie premiere or any other event.

Indian designers are getting noticed at international fashion exhibitions, be it Paris Fashion Week or it's Milan counter-part. Indian cloth exhibitions are being organised across the world with the primary motive of showcasing the elegance and grandeur of Indian fashion. Indian designers have steadily gained prominence in the world fashion market, mostly dominated by American and European designers, with their exceptional designs and enigmatic style of clothes. This has forced even the top rated fashion magazines and critics notice and admire the works of Indian designers. Whether it's wearing Indian designers or sporting saris, Hollywood or the international fashion circuit has taken to Indian designers and outfits. Take the pop sensation Katy Perry for example, who wore a Manish Arora Carousel dress at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The list of Indian designer wear being embraced by the Hollywood ladies doesn't encompass only outfits; Indian designer clutches, jewelleries and other accessories are also red hot properties among the fashionistas around the world.

In recent times, fashion in India not only encompasses traditional saris, salwar kameez, lavish bridal wears like lehengas but also a good mix of Western outfits as well as fusion attires. Indian designers are gradually widening their core competencies to designing elegant gowns and dresses for the evolving Indian audiences. Western of fusion apparels designed by some of the biggest names in the Indian fashion industry like Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Manish Malhotra, Wendell Rodericks and others are being lauded at every fashion event around the world.

An Indian fashion exhibition in a foreign country is always special and much-awaited. Such a fashion expo provides the Indian diaspora in that country with the opportunity to shop for ethnic Indian clothes and jewelleries, and to check out the latest trends and works of the prominent Indian designers. For the localites, these exhibitions provide a first-hand experience of witnessing Indian fashion. Such events are immense in terms of spreading Indian fashion around the world and provide a unique platform for Indian designers to tap the international markets with their vast selection of apparels and jewelleries. Indian fashion designers are slowly but surely creating a buzz in the world market and it's safe to say, the celebration of Indian fashion has just about started.
