Advanced Skills in Sewing and Tailoring
2 1/2 hour classes run every Thursday for 8 weeks from June 16th to August 11th inclusive. There is no class on 30th June. LEVEL 3 £170 This 8 week course is the natural progression after Level 2 Next Steps in Sewing. Having already notched up a pocketful of sewing skills this class aims to perfect and hone your cutting, sewing, pressing and finishing techniques. It will introduce garment construction with interfacings, interlinings and linings. Students will be encouraged to choose a more advanced pattern to tackle, and tailoring is encouraged. Each class is 2 1/2 hours long which allows plenty of time to get stuck in and complete each weeks project. Christine teaches with patience, enthusiasm and encouragement at every step. Our N.I Sewing Bee Angeline Murphy was once one of her dressmaking students. She has over 25 years experience in fashion, costume, and self employment in Northern Ireland. We will cover the following: Garment construction, linings, interlinings. How to press for the professional look. Advanced pattern choice and fit. Introduction to tailoring. Students are encouraged to think, sew and design creatively. Class sizes are limited to 4 people so that learning is focused and fun.
