Monthly Public Youth for Blk Lives Meeting with Eddie Johnson

Monthly Public Youth for Blk Lives Meeting with Eddie Johnson
Youth for Black Lives is an organization founded on the idea that in order to abolish systemic oppression, we have to recreate the system itself. The perpetuation of any institution rooted in slavery and designed to justify white supremacy is unacceptable. Based in Chicago, six black teenage girls (Maxine Aguilar, Natalie Braye, Sophia Byrd, Eva Lewis, Yahaira Tarr, and Maxine Wint) aim to validate and amplify the voices of young black people within the movement. Based on a meeting with Superintendent Johnson, Alderman O'Shea, and Principal Larry Tucker of Marist HS which occured in November of 2016, there will be a public monthly meeting with Superintendent Johnson and Youth for Black Lives to hold him accountable. We encourage all youth and allies to come out, and make their voices heard.
